Barnet manager, Ian Hendon today released four players; Adam Birchall, Nicky Nicolau, Ran Kadoch and Michael Leary. Max Porter was also released but this had been previously announced. Birchall joined Barnet in January 2007 from Mansfield Town after an initial loan period. He has scored 26 goals from 119 appearances for Barnet and was last season's top scorer with 15 goals.
Leary joined the Bees in the summer of 2007 from Luton Town. He made 59 appearances and scored 3 goals for the Bees. Nicolau joined Barnet from Southend United in the summer of 2006 and was released last summer but then offered a new contract by Paul Fairclough last September. He scored 4 goals in 98 appearances for Barnet. Kadoch made 13 appearances for Barnet since joining the club last summer. All four played in last Saturday's final game of the season at home to Port Vale which the Bees lost 2-1. Barnet finished the season in 17th place and on 48 points.
Their had been speculation about the futures of Cliff Akurang, Luke Medley, Joe Tabiri and Elliott Charles but Hendon explained that all four were still under contract until 2010.
Hendon has offered new contracts to Ismail Yakubu, Neal Bishop and Paul Furlong and is hoping that all three will start the new season at Underhill.
