Barnet have signed winger, Craig Dobson on a short term deal. The 26 year old, Jamaican international had a spell at Underhill in 2004, where he made one start, interestingly in a 3-1 LDV Trophy tie win over tomorrow’s visitors, Stevenage and three appearances as a substitute in the Conference.
Dobson began his career at Crystal Palace and then had brief spells at Cheltenham and Barnet before joining Cambridge City in 2005. He scored 9 goals in 40 appearances for City before moving to Stevenage Borough in 2006. He scored 14 goals in 62 appearances for Borough including a goal in the 3-2 FA Trophy Final win over Kidderminster in 2007 at Wembley, under Mark Stimson.
Dobson moved to MK Dons at the end of the 2007/08 season for a small fee, but since then has failed to really settle at any one club as moves followed to Brentford, Mansfield Town, Farnborough, Sutton United and, more recently, Thurrock. Dobson also had short loan spells with Wycombe and Kettering.
Dobson’s most settled period of his career was under Stimson at Stevenage and hopefully he can replicate that, and the form that he showed at Broadhall Way. Dobson goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s Hertfordshire derby
