Barnet have made two new signings; former Gillingham pair, Barry Fuller & Curtis Weston. Both players were released in the summer by former Barnet manager, Martin Allen. Barnet Head Coach, Mark Robson worked with both players in his time as coach at the Priestfield Stadium. Both Fuller & Weston are included in the squad to travel to Birmingham for the 1st round League Cup match tonight (Tuesday).
Fuller has played for the Bees before in a loan spell in 2005/06 while at Charlton Athletic. He made 15 League Two appearances for the Bees, playing at right back and midfield, scoring once in the 2-2 draw at Peterborough. After being released that summer by Charlton, he could have returned to Underhill but chose instead to join Stevenage Borough, who were at the time in the Conference. In January 2008, Fuller moved to Gillingham and captained the side that won promotion to League One in 2009. Fuller made over 150 first team appearances at Gillingham.
Weston, a wide based midfield player, began his career at Millwall, but only made a handful of first team appearances there before moving to Swindon Town in 2006. A year alter he joined Leeds United but failed to make an impact and had a loan spell at Scunthorpe United before joining Gillingham in 2008. Like Fuller, he helped the Gills to promotion in 2009 and scored 19 goals in over 165 first team appearances for the Kent side.
Barnet Mad welcomes both players to Barnet.
