Barnet have signed 19 year old Watford striker until January. Mensah is the third striker Barnet have signed on loan following the loan spells of Sam Hoskins & Alfie Pavey. Mensah has made just one Championship appearance as a substitute and had a loan spell at Braintree last season scoring 2 goals in 9 appearances for the Iron.
This season, he had a loan spell at Vitoria Guimaraes of Portugal scoring three goals in eight appearances. Barnet Mad welcomes Bernard to the club.
Mensah's loan signing, follows on from that of David Hunt from Oxford United until the end of January. Hunt began his career at Crystal Palace before moving to Leyton Orient in 2003, where he made over 70 appearances for Orient. He joined Northampton in 2005, helping them to promotion from League Two the following year and making over 80 appearances for the Cobblers before moving to Shrewsbury Town in 2007. After an injury hit spell with the Shropshire club, Hunt joined Brentford and helped the club win promotion from League Two before moving to Crawley Town, initially on loan but in May 2011, he signed for the Sussex club, helping them to the Conference title prior to joining the club permanently. Hunt made over 90 appearances for Crawley before moving to Oxford United in 2013 and has made over 50 appearances for them. Hunt made his Barnet debut at Welling on Saturday, coming on as a substitute. Barnet Mad wishes David a successful stay at the club.
Also joining Barnet, on contract at least, is former Aldershot & Wycombe manager, Gary Waddock. Waddock took Aldershot to the Conference title in 2008 and won promotion to League One with Saturday's FA Cup visitors, Wycombe Wanderers in 2011. Waddock has joined the first team coaching staff at the Hive, having been working at the club, on a casual basis, since pre-season. Clearly, someone of Gary's experience can only help in Barnet regaining their Football League status next May.
Meanwhile, young winger, Iffy Allen has joined Wingate & Finchley on loan.
