Sky Sports reported this week that Barnet manager, Ian Hendon was in talks with goalkeeper, Jake Cole about bringing him to Underhill for the new season. Cole arrived on loan from QPR at Underhill in March and played 10 matches. He greatly impressed the Barnet fans who would love to see him join permanently for the Bees. The report went on to say that Hendon was hopeful of signing Cole but that wages could be a stumbling block. The 23 year old keeper has been released by QPR.

Hendon also told Sky Sports that he wouldn't be trying to sign former Arsenal youngster, Abu Ogogo who has been released by the Gunners. Ogogo made 7 starts, plus another 2 appearances as a substitute for the Bees, scoring once, away at Luton. However, he was sent off twice and missed a great deal of the loan period through injury, factors which seem to have dissuaded Hendon from chasing Ogogo.

Meanwhile, in a separate article on the Sky Sports website, Lee Harrison, who the report called Barnet's assistant manager, stated that he felt that it was 'likely' that 40 year old striker, Paul Furlong would return to Underhill for the new season. Furlong has been offered a one year contract by Ian Hendon after his hugely successful loan spell at Barnet last season.

Furlong, who lives only about 15 minutes from the Bees' ground, scored 9 goals in 21 matches after joining on loan from Southend United. He played a large part in Barnet's climb away from the relegation area and formed a formidable strike partnership with John O'Flynn. The report stated that Furlong was expected to give Hendon his decision later this month.
