Former Bees on the move

A number of former Barnet players have been on the move recently. Oxford United have signed Simon Clist from Forest Green Rovers and Damien Batt on loan from Grays Athletic. Clist and Batt were both members of the Barnet squad that won the Nationwide Conference title in 2005. Clist made 64 starts and another 4 appearances a s a substitute, scoring 1 goal for the Bees after signing from Bristol City in 2004. He was released at the end of 2005/06 season along with Batt who joined Barnet from Norwich City in 2004. Batt made 20 starts plus another 17 appearances for the Bees, scoring 1 goal. Guy Lopez, who has joined Waltham Forest, was another member of the promotion squad. He made 21 league starts with another 20 appearances as a substitute for the Bees. His only goal for the club was in the LDV Trophy against Brentford in 2003. It was a rocket from outside the penalty area and ended up voted as goal of the season for 2003-04 by the Barnet fans.
Lee Hodges has joined Billericay Town as player/assistant manager. Hodges joined Barnet in the summer of 1994 from Tottenham. He made 94 league starts plus another 10 appearances as a substitute for Barnet scoring 26 goals. He joined Reading in 1997 for £250,000. Ashley Carew, ho was recently released by Ian Hendon, has signed on a permanent basis for Eastleigh. He joins two other former Bees in Tony Taggart and Warren Goodhind. Carew scored twice for Barnet in 28 league starts plus another 15 appearances as a substitute.
Meanwhile, Tresor Kandol has gone on loan to Charlton where he joins Nicky Bailey, Dean Sinclair and ex Barnet loanee, Josh Wright. Kandol who left Barnet in 2006 for Leeds United, has scored twice for the Valiants in 6 starts. Kandol joined Barnet in January 2006 fro £50,000 from daggenham & Redbridge and scored 17 goals for Barnet before moving to Leeds in November 2006 for £200,000.
