Furlong signs on for the Bees

Barnet have signed striker, Paul Furlong on a one year deal. Furlong, who scored 9 goals for Barnet in 21 games last season while on loan from Southend United, will also act as a strikers' coach at Underhill.

Furlong began his career at Enfield before joining Coventry in 1991 for £130,000. In 1992, he joined Watford for £250,000 and scored 37 goals in 79 league matches for the Hornets before moving to Chelsea in 1994 for £2.3m. He scored 13 goals in 65 league matches at Stamford Bridge before joining Birmingham in 1996. He was at Birmingham for 6 years and scored 50 goals in 130 league games before joining QPR following two loan spells at Loftus Road. He was a prolific scorer for the R's, scoring 57 goals in all before joining Luton in 2007 and then Southend a year later. He arrived at Underhill on loan in January. He scored his 200th career goal in the home match with Bournemouth in April.
