Barnet have signed 24 year old, Alfreton Town striker, John Akinde. He becomes the club’s second recent signing from Alfreton after Dan Bradley joined the Bees earlier this month. Akinde began his career at Ebbsfleet where he scored 10 goals from 32 matches as well as having a spell on loan at Margate.
In 2008, he joined Bristol City for £140,000 but scored just one goal in 21 games at Ashton Gate and had spells on loan at Wycombe, Brentford, Bristol Rovers and Dagenham & Redbridge. Akinde joined Crawley Town in 2011 and he scored 1 goal in 40 appearances and had a second loan spell at Dagenham & Redbridge before joining Portsmouth in January 2013 where he made 11 appearance before being released at the end of the 2012/13 season. He then joined Alfreton Town and scored 18 goals in 43 matches.
Barnet Mad wishes John a successful stay at the Hive.
