Barnet have re-signed Nottingham Forest midfield player, Mark Byrne on loan for the rest of the season. Byrne made 19 first team appearances for the Bees in the first half of the season after joining the Bees on a six month loan deal which was brought to an end after Byrne was injured after coming on as a substitute in the home game with Northampton in November.
The 21 year old Byrne has made two appearances as a substitute in the league for Forest and another substitute appearance in the FA Cup. In 2008/09, Byrne had a loan spell with Burton Albion in the Blue Square Premier, making seven appearances for the Brewers and was on a season long loan at Rushden & Diamonds last season, making 44 appearances and scoring 7 goals as Rushden reached the play-offs of the Blue Square Premier. At Rushden, he played under Barnet coach, Michael Stone. Byrne’s arrival adds yet more competition for places in Barnet’s midfield and along with Sam Deering, will provide more creativity in that department as well. Byrne can also score goals and had already got 4 goals to his name for the Bees.
Paul Fairclough has also signed highly promising 19 year old left back, Matty Parsons from Crystal Palace. Parsons has already made his league debut this season for the South London Championship club and will provide much needed competition for Jordan Parkes on the left side of the defence. Both Parsons and Byrne could play away at Rotherham on Saturday.
