Barnet’s new manager, Mark Stimson, yesterday announced three new signings for the Bees. 22 year old midfield player, Rossi Jarvis has joined from Luton Town. Jarvis began his career at Norwich City. He made 7 league appearances for the Canaries and had loan spells at Torquay and Rotherham before moving to Luton Town in 2008. He played in the Hatters side that won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in 2009, but, due to the club’s unfortunate 30 points penalty, was also relegated to the Blue Square Premier. He made 62 league appearances for Luton, scoring 3 goals. He has played 11 times for Paul Fairclough’s England C team.
The Bees have also signed Watford full back, Jordan Parkes. Parkes, who can play either right or left back, had a spell on loan at Underhill two years ago, making his debut for the Bees in the 3-1 home win over Chester City. Parkes has made five first team appearances for the Hornets and has also had loan spells with Brentford and Stevenage.
The final signing is Gillingham striker, Charlie Stimson, son of the new Barnet manager. Stimson began his career at Tottenham Hotspur before moving to the Priestfield Stadium where he has been a regular youth team player. He was offered a new contract at the end of last season but turned it down after his dad was sacked as manager following the Gills’ relegation back to League Two. The 6ft1” striker has played on loan at Redbridge and on work experience at Maidstone.
Meanwhile, Barnet’s much sought after winger, Albert Adomah has agreed terms with Championship club, Bristol City, though a fee has not yet been agreed. A look at Albert’s career at Underhill will follow.
According to the Barnet Times, Mark Stimson was said to be in talks with last season’s leading scorer at Underhill, John O’Flynn, who is out of contract. O’Flynn is said to be seriously considering signing on for another year at Barnet. Barnet Mad will update fans on news about O’Flynn and all things Barnet.
Barnet’s squad of signed up players for the new season currently looks like this with 16 players:
Goalkeepers:
Jake Cole joined Barnet in July 2009 from QPR. He made 10 league appearances last season at Underhill while on loan. He only made 6 appearances for the first team in 6 years at QPR and had loan spells at Hayes, AFC Wimbledon, Farnborough and Oxford United. Cole was ever present in league and cup matches for Barnet last season and was voted player of the year by the supporters.

Glen Southam was playing last season for Blue Square Premier side, Histon. He began his career at Bishop’s Stortford and scored 27 goals in 124 appearances at the club, being voted player of the year no less than three times between 2000 and 2004. In 2004, he was signed by John Still for Dagenham & Redbridge and helped the Daggers win the Conference title in 2007. He made over 200 league appearances for Dagenham, scoring 25 goals before moving to Hereford United in 2009. He made 19 appearances for Histon last season, scoring 2 goals.
Glenn Poole started his career at Thurrock before joining up with Mark Stimson at Grays in 2005. He made over 80 appearances for the Essex side scoring 22 goals, a good haul for a midfield player. In 2007 he had a short spell at Rochdale before joining Brentford. He scored 21 goals in two seasons at Griffin Park and helped ‘the other Bees’ win promotion to League One in 2009. Poole looked a talented player when he played against Barnet and it was somewhat surprising when Brentford manager, Andy Scott released him at the end of that season. Last season, Poole had spells at Grays and AFC Wimbledon.
Rossi Jarvis is a 22 year old midfield player who has joined from Luton Town.
Strikers:
Mauro Vilhete is another product of the Hive. Vilhete turned down the chance of joining Aston Villa to sign for the Bees. He became the youngest ever player to play League football for Barnet when he made his debut as a substitute at Grimsby Town last season at the age of 16. He made his full debut a week later at home to Rochdale in the last match of the season.

Danny Kelly joined Barnet from Norwich City in June 2010. . Kelly is 19 and 6ft 1” and has captained the Republic of Ireland under 19 team. Kelly was a loan target last season for Stimson when he was manager of Gillingham. Kelly can play in defence or up front, but prefers playing as a striker, the position that Mark Stimson seems likely to play him in.
Charlie Stimson has joined Barnet from Gillingham and is the son of the new Barnet manager. Stimson began his career at Tottenham Hotspur before moving to the Priestfield Stadium where he has been a regular youth team player. He was offered a new contract at the end of last season but turned it down after his dad was sacked as manager following the Gills’ relegation back to League Two.
