Barnet today signed two players on short term contracts. Left back, Ahmed Deen who has impressed in pre-season matches has been signed, presumably as cover for Kenny Gillet. Deen began his career at Peterborough as a youngster and had a loan spell at Hornchurch before joining Aldershot in 2005. He made 11 league appearances for the Shots. In 2007, he joined St. Albans City. He joined Macclesfield Town in July 2008 and made 28 league appearances for the Silkmen before being released at the end of last season. He has played for Sierra Leone 10 times at full international level.

The other player signed today is 20 year old, former PROTEC goalkeeper, Phil Carpenter who was on the bench for the Bees seven times last season. He has had a trial recently with Manchester City. This would appear to put an end to speculation that former Hendon keeper, Will Viner would be signing for the Bees.
