Martin Allen has made his first signings since his return as Barnet manager, bringing in goalkeeper, Sam Walker from Chelsea and defender, Jude Sterling from MK Dons.

Walker has been brought in as emergency goalkeeping cover as Jake Cole and Liam O’Brien are both injured and unavailable for Saturday’s home match with Chesterfield. Walker, aged 19 and an impressive 6ft 6” was a member of Chelsea’s FA Youth Cup winning side of last year, only conceding three goals in eight matche sin their successful run.

Stirling is 28 and 6ft 2 is the possessor of a long throw, somewhat ironic following the recent match with Morecambe where two long throws brought about Barnet’s downfall in a 2-1 defeat. Stirling began his career at Luton Town and subsequently played for Stevenage, St Albans City, Dover, Tamworth, Oxford United, Lincoln and Peterborough before joining MK Dons in 2007, initially on loan. He has over 100 first team appearances for the Dons since then, scoring 5 goals and brings a great deal of experience to the Barnet squad.
