THEY PLAYED FOR BOTH: Notts County

A number of players have played for both Notts County and Barnet and these include, of course, our current assistant manager and Bees legend, Ian Hendon. Hendon joined County from Leyton Orient in February 1997 for £50,000. He led County to the 3rd division championship in 1998, as captain. Perhaps surprisingly he left the following March to join Northampton for £25,000. He joined Barnet on loan from Sheffield Wednesday in December 2002 for a month playing 4 games and scoring 1 goal, at home to Doncaster Rovers, impressing the Barnet fans immensely. However, he then joined Peterborough United, but in the summer of 2003 he was signed for the bees by Martin Allen to become Bees captain in a brand new look Barnet side. He lead Barnet to the Nationwide Conference play-offs only to see them lose out to Shrewsbury, but the following season Barnet were promoted back to the league as Conference champions. He became assistant to Paul Fairclough in 2007, but is still registered as a player.

Alex Dyer played for Barnet from September 1995 to May 1996 making 35 league appearances and scoring 2 goals. He later had nearly 3 years at Meadow Lane joining them in March 1998 and leaving in December 2000 to join Kingstonian. He scored 6 goals in 80 league appearances and helped County win the Division 3 title, under Ian Hendon, in 1998.

Paul Harding played at Barnet between August 1989 and September 1990 making 24 league appearances and scoring 5 goals after joining from Enfield. He joined County for £60,000 and made 54 league appearances, scoring 1 goal before joining Barry Fry at Birmingham in 1993 for £50,000.

Dave Regis joined Barnet in 1989 and made 51 appearances for the Bees, scoring 16 goals before joining County in 1990, along with Harding, for £25,000. He made 46 appearances for County, scoring 15 goals before moving to Plymouth in 1991 for £200,000. He later joined Harding at Birmingham.

Matty Redmile started his career at Notts County making 151 league appearances and scoring 7 goals in 5 ½ years at the club. He left in 2001 to join Shrewsbury Town. He joined Barnet in February 2004 and made 11 league appearances, scoring 1 goal, on his debut at Aldershot, before moving to Tamworth in the summer.
