THEY PLAYED FOR BOTH: Barnet & Shrewsbury Town

A number of players have played for both Shrewsbury Town and Barnet through the years. In recent years, the Bees had defender, Sagi Burton who was at Shrewsbury the previous season, but left to join Rushden & Diamonds.

Darren Currie joined Barnet from Shrewsbury Town in 1998. He joined Shrewsbury for £70,000 in 1996 but was released on a free transfer and joined the Bees. He was in the Barnet side that was relegated in 2001. He currently plays for Dagenham & Redbridge on loan from Chesterfield.

Matt Redmile was at Shrewsbury from 200-2003 and played over 100 times for the club before joining Scarborough. He left the Seadogs to join Barnet in February 2004 but left in that summer to join Tamworth. He scored for Barnet on his debut against Aldershot. Austin Berkley made over 150 league appearances for the Shrews in nearly five years at the club. He joined Barnet in 2000 but only made 10 league starts for the Bees in an injury hit career at Underhill. He scored 2 goals for Barnet, both in a Conference match at Leigh RMI in 2002 which ended in a 3-3 draw.

Gregor Rioch had a loan spell at Barnet in 1993, making 3 appearances for the Bees, while with Luton Town. He later played for Shrewsbury between March 2001 and July 2002, making 46 league appearances for the Shrews before moving on to Northwich. He rejoined the Shrews in July 2003 and was in the Shrews' squad that won promotion from the Conference in 2003/04.

Omar Riza was on loan from West Ham in the 2000/01 season and he scored 4 goals in 10 league appearances for the Bees. He joined Shrewsbury in April 2009.
