THEY PLAYED FOR BOTH: Barnet & Swindon Town

A number of players have played for both Barnet and Swindon Town. A current member of the Robins’ squad is Joe Devera who moved from Underhill to the County Ground during the summer after having spent the rest of his career at Barnet. Devera was voted Barnet Player of the Year in 2008 and again in 2011 and made over 200 first team appearances for the Bees scoring 2 goals. Devera was Barnet captain last season and helped the club maintain its League Two status.  

Mark Marshall joined Barnet from Swindon Town in the summer of last year and has played in every league match for the Bees since his arrival scoring 6 goals.Marshall joined Swindon from Grays in 2008, making 19 appearances for the Robins, mostly as a substitute.

Nicky Nicolau joined Barnet from Swindon in 2006 and around 100 first team appearances for the Bees scoring 4 goals before joining Woking in 2009. He joined Swindon from Southend United in 2005 but made just 6 first team appearances for the Robins. He is currently with Lincoln City.

Albert Jarrett joined Barnet fromGillinghamin 2009 and scored the goal that ensured the Bees’ survival at the end of the 2009/10 season. He was voted the most improved player for that season and it was something of a surprise when he was released by the club. He made over 50 first team appearances for the Bees scoring 2 goals before joining Lincoln City. He had a loan spell with Swindon while at Brighton in 2006 and made 6 appearances for the Robins.

Jake Hyde joined Barnet fromSwindonTownin 2009 and was voted the young player of the 2009/10 season before being released by the club. He made 39 first team appearances, scoring 6 goals before moving to Hayes & Yeading. He joined Swindon in 2007 as a youngster but failed to break into the first team there. He is currently with Dundee.

Giuliano Grazioli joined Barnet from Bristol Rovers in 2003 and was leading scorer in his first season at the club as he helped them to the Conference play-offs. The following season his goals took the Bees back to the Football League as Barnet won the Conference.Graz was named Player of the Year in 2003/04 and 2004/05 and was named as 2005 Nationwide Conference Player of the Year. He scored 65 goals in around 150 appearances for Barnet before moving to Dover in 2008.Graz was appointed Barnet assistant manager last season by Martin Allen and became manager after Allen’s shock departure. He steered the club to League Two safety at the end of last season but is now assistant manager to Lawrie Sanchez at Underhill.  (Interestingly, Sanchez is also a former Robin, having played for Swindon, where he made 8 appearances for the club in season 1993/94.) Grazioli joined Swindon fromPeterboroughin 1999 and scored 18 goals in over 80 appearances at the club. He left in 2002 to join Bristol Rovers.

Amongst other players who have been employed by both clubs are Paul Mitchell, Austin Berkley and Terry Gibson.
