Harry Crawford arrived from Conference club, Dartford in the January 2013 transfer window with a reputation as a goalscorer who had an average of 1 goal every other game. Crawford, who had also played for Southend and Dover, duly scored on his second appearance as a substitute, getting a late goal that appeared to have won a point away at Bristol Rovers, only for the home side to score a winner in the very last throws of the game (Oh if only Crawford’s goal had grabbed a point, the Bees would have stayed up!!).
However, it turned out to be the only goal he scored that season and he even had a short loan spell back at Dartford. Harry made just three starts that season for the Bees and made 7 substitute appearances and had just the one goal (at Bristol Rovers).
Last season, with Barnet back in the Conference, it was hoped that he would show the kind of form that he had displayed at Dartford here he had scored 13 goals in 26 appearances in the Conference, but, sadly, it never really happened. Crawford started the season on the bench and never really looked like claiming a regular first team place. He scored just two goals; at home to Hyde where he scored the winner after the visitors had pulled back to 2-2 after being 2-0 down and away at Aldershot where Barnet had come back from 3-1 down to grab a point. Harry made just 12 starts last season with another 18 appearances as a substitute and in all, he made 15 starts, 25 appearances as a substitute and scored 3 goals. At the end of last season, he was released by Martin Allen.
Barnet Mad wishes Harry all the best for the future.
